When I started researching Day of Coordinators, it was a little disheartening at first. I’m sure that all of the people I spoke with were lovely people, but they just didn’t click. These people were not for us. Clearly. Then, when we talked to Elizabeth, the click was pretty instant. Here was someone who “got” us. So we got her. Best. Decision. Ever. (I mean, y’know, after picking my husband.)
Why Elizabeth is awesome: She is a very calming influence - when she told me, “You’re not crazy,” I totally believed her. Our venue went through four Event Coordinators, and it was awesome to have someone who was on our side who knew what she was talking about and could help us communicate with them, in spite of their general insanity. On the actual day of our wedding, everyone got where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there. Easily. The band, the piper, the cake, the errant groomsmen, my grandmother, everyone. She made it look so EASY. It’s hard to remain calm if the people around you are not calm. Elizabeth is calm. I didn’t realize how much she did at the wedding until we started seeing the pictures some of our friends took. She is EVERYWHERE! Strangely, she was not in the background of our professional pics, though. (Some sort of sixth sense? I do not know.) And, it was very clear that she didn’t see us as a “same sex couple who is having some sort of ceremony.” We were a couple who was getting married. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean.
To sum it up, I don’t have enough great things to say about Elizabeth. Our wedding was great and we weren’t stressed out. That’s pretty much the best, right?
