Palm Springs Wedding :: Estee and Jon

Estee & Jon’s wedding was at her parents’ house, and is the wedding I will point to from now on when people don’t believe they can have a wedding without a sit down meal. Killer dance music, a sweet reception dress, eleven courses of passed appetizers (and very little seating at all), pool-side hanging, a lot of cake, all with the backdrop of Palm Springs, one of my very favorite places to get away, and an amazing couple at the center of it all – what doesn’t work, and more importantly, what’s not to love?

Congratulations again you two!

A couple of years ago, you shared two autumn cocktails on the A Practical Wedding website (here: http://apracticalwedding.com/2013/09/easy-fall-signature-cocktails/). I am trying to figure out whether the “sparkling cide” is meant to be alcoholic in nature, or not. Unfortunately, the photos cannot be zoomed in to enough to see the brand of cider used, so that I can look it up myself…
Also? I noticed that you used bourbon (Bulleit, if the photo is accurate), but we would prefer to use an Irish Whiskey. Do you have any suggestions, or should we just go w/ our gut?

yep, non alcoholic sparkling cider (Martinelli’s or store brand)! Jameson is a good pretty neutral Irish Whiskey that will work well in this, but going with your gut is also usually a good bet :)
