avocado + balsamic + salt

This is my favorite lunch* of the moment. A ripe avocado + good balsamic vinegar (I’m currently really loving B.R. Cohn’s 25 year balsamic) + a generous dose of salt. It’s perfection. *I’m generally more of a snacker than a meal eater. It works well with my kind-of-hungry-all-the-time-but-not-very-hungry-anytime appetite. And with the fact that I [...]

Hunter Verbiers

it is way too late in the year to be shopping for rainboots (it generally doesn’t rain the Bay Area from May through October. hey hey Mediterranean climate) but I love these Hunter Verbiers: Grey with red laces? yes please. Now if they’ll only go on sale for half off, maybe I can actually let [...]

Canoe

Have you seen Miss Natalie‘s new line Canoe yet? Featuring vintage American work wear along with hand tooled leather goods, it’s really great stuff. At the moment I’m particularly eyeing this keychain – I think my keys could use a makeover for summer. (what? you don’t accessorize your keys seasonally?) I miss running into Natalie [...]

Ivy & Aster

I love both of these dresses from Ivy & Aster‘s Fall 2011 collection. Hey, wedding dress designers: please work on designing more non-strapless dresses. I promise that there is a much bigger market for them than you apparently think. photos: Ivy & Aster

There Is Thunder In Our Hearts

I am a tote bag whore. I have so many that it gets a little silly at times, but tell me: is there anything more useful than a tote bag? I think not. I use them year round for well, toting stuff, but in the summer I also tend use one instead of a purse. [...]

hey hey weekend

I’m off to spend the weekend at the beach*, and am looking forward to getting my toes in the sand. Here’s to hoping for warm weather wherever you are! *I’ll be chaperoning 20+ teenagers, so no need to be too jealous Photo: taken at Stinson Beach, sometime last summer.

bedroom peek

I am *almost* done decorating my new bedroom, and am so happy with how it’s turning out. I’m hoping to be able to share the end result in the next few weeks, but here’s a peek (excuse the odd lighting and color balance in this photo) That’s the closet door you see, which is doorless, [...]

Can you feel it coming?

Flip-flop weather is almost here, and I just discovered that I apparently tossed all but one pair of my old ones when I moved in December.* Because I live in them most of the year, I’m definitely going to need to buy a few more pairs to get me through this upcoming spring, summer, and [...]

Lee Price

Beacon, NY based painter Lee Price‘s work is incredible – I’m especially digging her series of women (a woman? her?) eating in the bathtub. I would love to hang one of these in my dining room (check out the sizes – they’re deliciously huge.) images: Lee Price (originally found via… somewhere)

rope

really loving these Rope Knot Bracelets made by Tanya AguiƱiga, available from Poketo. Thinking that one of them might just be the summer accessory I’ve been looking for… Photos: Poketo
