A few days before I went to New York I had the pleasure of coordinating Lara & Tristan’s wedding. Lara and I grew up going to church together, but I met Tristan for the first time just a few days before their wedding. It was a total blast. Both the ceremony and reception were at Mills College, which is one of my favorite Bay Area venues (I mean, look at that chapel! it also happens to be my alma mater.) One of my favorite moments was when her sister called them “the hottest nerds I’ve ever seen” in her toast – Lara had successfully defended her dissertation in nuclear engineering at MIT just a week before the wedding.
And it has to be said, Tristan had one of the most entertaining bunches of groomsmen I’ve ever worked with (also: one of the most high maintenance bunches.) I got to figure out how to deal with a rental kilt that was several sizes too large (hint: there was sewing involved) which is a skill I’m glad to now have in my arsenal.
Photos are by the lovely Jenny Moloney. She’s based in Boston (as are the bride & groom) and New England brides – you should hire her! California brides, you should also hire her, so that I can work with her again. She was a total blast to hang out with, and her photos are to die for. Can’t wait to see the whole set…
